Philly Cheesesteak Pizzas

Makes 2 pizzas
Ingredients
- ¼ cup butter
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- 1¾ cups milk
- 1 (8-ounce) package shredded whole-milk mozzarella cheese
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons yellow cornmeal
- 2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
- 1 (8-ounce) package sliced fresh mushrooms
- 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 yellow bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 sweet onion, thinly sliced
- 2 pounds top sirloin steak, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon Montreal steak seasoning
- 2 (13.8-ounce) cans refrigerated pizza crust dough
- 1 (8-ounce) package shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour, and cook, whisking constantly, for 2 minutes. Whisk in milk until mixture is smooth. Cook, whisking occasionally, for 8 minutes or until mixture is thickened. Whisk in whole-milk mozzarella, pepper, and garlic powder until melted and smooth. Remove from heat, and set aside.
- Preheat oven to 450°. Spray 2 large rimmed baking sheets with nonstick cooking spray; sprinkle each with 1 tablespoon cornmeal.
- In another large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon olive oil over medium-high heat. Add mushrooms and next 3 ingredients. Cook, stirring frequently, for 6 to 8 minutes or until vegetables are very tender. Remove from skillet, and set aside. Wipe skillet clean.
- In same skillet, heat remaining 1 tablespoon oil over medium-high heat. Sprinkle sirloin with steak seasoning. Add steak to skillet, and cook, stirring occasionally, for 4 minutes or just until done. Remove from heat, and set aside.
- Unroll 1 can pizza dough onto each prepared pan, and spread each with cheese sauce. Top each with vegetable mixture and steak, and sprinkle with mozzarella.
- Bake for 15 minutes or until crusts are golden brown and cheese is melted.
