Nacho Cheese Sauce
Serves: about 3 cups
 
Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup processed cheese sauce*
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce
  • 3⁄4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1⁄4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1⁄4 teaspoon onion powder
Instructions
  1. In a 10-inch cast-iron skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour; cook, whisking constantly, for 1 minute. Gradually whisk in milk until smooth. Cook, whisking frequently, until mixture is thick and bubbly, 6 to 8 minutes. Reduce heat to low; whisk in cheese sauce and all remaining ingredients until melted and smooth. Serve warm.
